ADVENT WRITING RETREAT
Advent can be a confusing time of year, and it is easy to feel overwhelmed at the approach of the Christmas season. On Saturday, December 15 from noon – 4 p.m. at Tree of Life Church you are invited to take time to reflect on holidays and what is most important to you in this season. This retreat will be led by Pam Poe. Cost is $15. Our purpose is to consider Light as a metaphor for seasonal memoir reflections, with optional sharing. We seek sacred connections that welcome the Spirit, as we look beyond the stress of malls or online shopping, too-full schedules and some of the losses that may surface at this time of year. By revisiting a few holiday memories and stories, we will explore writing and sharing in a safe space of writers and learn from several books about writing process and the Advent season. Join us for an afternoon of creative writing and reflection which will include an invitation to enter deeper writing with music, silence, and candlelight. For those who are interested, an optional on-your-own arts and crafts table will also be available for use as a tool of reflection. We hope to see you there!
